The first step for businesses aspiring to join the top 1% of the world’s most impactful purpose-driven businesses is to complete the Purpose Impact Synergy Analysis. This allows us to comprehensively evaluate the overall impact of your business

Joining the ranks of the world's most impactful business leaders signifies that your business meets the highest standards of purpose and leadership. The Purpose Impact Score gauges the true alignment between your business's purpose and its impact on all stakeholders. We evaluate strategic areas across a scoring range of 0 to 20 for each area, with a total score of 100 points. The total score reflects the overall business purpose impact and is divided into two parameters:

• Satisfactory: The business meets the purpose-impact requirements with a minimum score of 12.2 points in each area and a total minimum score of 61 points.

• Exceptional: The business demonstrates an exceptional purpose impact with a minimum score of 16 points in each area and a total minimum score of 80 points.

If a business scores below the minimum satisfactory threshold of 61 points in the Purpose Impact Synergy Analysis:

The business will not meet the certification criteria and will not receive the certification.

1. Detailed Feedback: The business will receive detailed feedback outlining the specific areas where it fell short. This feedback will identify weaknesses or gaps in the company’s leadership and impact strategies that need improvement.

2. Guidance and Support: Along with feedback, the business will be offered leadership guidance on how to improve its score.

3. Opportunity for Improvement: The business has the opportunity to work on the identified areas of improvement. It is encouraged to implement the suggested changes and enhancements to raise its score.

4. Retake of the Analysis: The business can retake the Purpose Impact Synergy Analysis after one year. This allows sufficient time for the business to make the necessary adjustments and improvements before being re-evaluated.

This process not only encourages continuous improvement but also ensures that only businesses meeting the necessary standards receive certification, maintaining the integrity and value of the certification.

After you complete and submit the Purpose Impact Synergy Analysis, we will send a comprehensive purpose impact report within five working days to verify your initial score. Please note that this score is provisional and not final. The final purpose impact score will be determined and communicated after the purpose review call. We recommend scheduling your business purpose call as soon as you submit your answers.

The review, verification, and certification process generally takes about two weeks from the completion of the Purpose Impact Synergy Analysis. This timeframe may be extended depending on the size, activity, and sector of the business.

Since we use the Purpose Impact Synergy Analysis to review, select, and certify business leaders, a fixed fee of £199.99 applies. This fee covers a comprehensive purpose impact report, a two-year certification, a consultation call, and, if your business meets the standards, the use of the Purpose Vanguards logo and badge. The fee remains consistent regardless of company size or industry and does not include any additional charges.

The list of the top 1% purpose-driven businesses will be updated and published twice a year on the following dates:

1st of September and 1st of March.

These biannual updates ensure that the most current and relevant information about the most impactful businesses is available, reflecting any changes in their Purpose Impact Scores or certification status.

Important: This year, we’re reaching out to a select group of remarkable purpose pioneers from around the world—organisations that genuinely embody purpose in action and measurable impact. Their stories will be featured as powerful case studies in our inaugural global publication, The World’s Most Impactful Purpose-Driven Businesses, launching on March 2, 2026.

To be included in the list of the world’s most impactful leaders published on the 1st of Sept, please submit the Purpose Impact Synergy Analysis by the 15th of July. For inclusion in the March list, submissions must be made by the 15th of Jan.

It is a single key benefit that primarily signifies the exceptional caliber of leadership within your organization. It serves as a powerful testament to your status as a true global business leader and an inspiring example for other businesses.

After certification and listing, the following typically occurs:

1. Public Recognition: Your organisation will be officially recognised as a certified leader in purpose-driven business. This often includes a public announcement and listing on relevant platforms or directories.

2. Ongoing Monitoring and Support: You will receive continuous leadership support and resources to help you maintain and enhance your purpose-driven practices. This can include access to industry networks, best practices, and regular check-ins.

3. Impact Reporting: You may be required to report periodically on the impact of your purpose-driven initiatives. This helps track progress and ensure that your organisation remains aligned with the standards and goals set during certification.

4. Enhanced Visibility: Being listed as a certified business leader can increase your visibility and credibility in the industry. This can attract like-minded partners, clients, and talent who share your values.

These steps ensure that your commitment to purpose-driven leadership is recognised and supported while providing ongoing value to your organisation and its stakeholders.

The certification is valid for 2 years, allowing organisations to demonstrate their ongoing commitment to the purpose standards and practices required for certification.

Re-certification Process: To maintain certification, organisations must undergo a re-certification process before the current certification expires. This may include submitting updated documentation, undergoing additional assessments, or providing evidence of continued adherence to purpose-driven practices.
